Tutorials and Publications

Okay so, Painter Magazine issue 24 arrived here on December 6. I must say that I am very satisfied with how my piece turned out in print. I just should put a bit less sharpening into it next time because some parts look a bit overdone.
The tutorial fits for both, beginners and more experienced users, since we have decided to add a little section that shows how to create a landscape with stock photos.
And please don’t wonder if the “writing style” seems a bit “strange” here and there. As they got their new editor in chief it was decided to change some things.
For instance, the paint like section is no longer a master copy section as I used to have it, it deals with creating a piece of art in this or that style of this or that old master or time period. They also have decided to add the term “we” to all workshops. Which makes something that I have written as “I” really sound completely rediciolous at some place. I think it is meant to fit “teaching style”, bleh.
This is why I have changed the way of my writing style for issue 25 where I’ll be having another figure workshop. I used the term we and put it all in present tense. Let’s hope they’ll work fine with this!

Other than that, I finally got my new Ballistic Publishing artbooks this weekend.
I am glad about the printing result of Exotieque 4, which turned out much brighter than Exotique 3. That makes my amazing amount of 5 submissiones shine in all their glory. But what got the most squeels out of me was slip case copy of Matte Painting 2 for which I had originally created my artwork “stranded”. It is just so beautiful!
Personally I like Ballistic’s tutorial books much more than their general arbooks. They sure are harder to get in but they include useful information about several artists and cool tutorials that you really can learn something from even when you’re a pro. A must buy in my eyes, not just cause I’m included. :3

Older News From December 1: Okay… I accidentally won even more awards now. Who knows where else I have some, too? I just discovered that I was awarded with 5 CGHub awards for several artworks of mine. Cool! XD
